A few things
to know.
Does Same Story include channels or shows?
No. Same Story is a player for content you have access to. You’ll need your own compatible playlist or provider connection and the rights to watch it.
What sources does it work with?
The project supports M3U playlists, direct HTTP streams and compatible Stalker portals. XMLTV can supply guide data. Provider compatibility and playback depend on the source, format and device.
Which devices are you building for?
Our roadmap includes native apps for iOS and Android phones and tablets, native Windows and Mac apps, Apple TV and other set-top systems, plus a web experience. Apple apps are currently in development; Android, Windows, web access and additional TV systems are planned. Specific TV systems, feature availability and release dates will be announced as support is confirmed.
What is the Mac hub for?
The current development setup uses a Mac hub to keep source connections and the household library together. Connected Apple clients use it for browsing and household features. Setup requirements for the planned platforms will be shared as those apps take shape.
Does “watch together” mean a remote watch party?
Here, it means choosing from a shared household queue, with individual preferences and progress. It does not mean synchronized video playback across different homes.
When can I download it, and what will it cost?
Same Story will cost $39.99 per year or $4.99 per month for one household across supported devices. Prices are in USD. Public downloads and release timing have not been announced. Join the waitlist below to receive an email when Same Story launches. Subscriptions are not yet available to purchase.
